2. Inheritance in Christ
Read Matthew Chapter 16

Matthew 16:18 - On this rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Where precisely are the gates of hell? Where does the devil sit in power?

The mind is the gatekeeper of the Kingdom of God. It is the place of access, transition, and power. It follows that the gates of hell are set up in people's minds. Jesus made this clear:

Matthew 16:23 - But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

He didn't say, "Peter, you devil worshiper!" He didn't say, "You are filled with all kinds of occult practices and deceits." He said, "Your mind is filled with the things of man."

The devil is empowered by human agreement. That mental posture was a gate from which satan was released to bring Peter's destruction.

Humanity without Christ at the center is satanic in nature. When you've been given the Spirit of God, you lose the privilege of claiming, "I'm only human." Paul rebukes the church at Corinth for behaving like mere men (1 Corinthians 3:3).

The gate of hell is in our minds any time we agree with a man-centered prespective or natural wisdom that does not know God. We empower demonic forces and become a gate to release his power to kill, steal, and destroy our lives.

Affirmation

I AM A GATEWAY FOR HEAVEN'S REALITY TO TAKE OVER EVERY PART OF MY LIFE, AND THE LIVES OF PEOPLE WHO I INFLUENCE, NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL THE SPECIFIC SITUATION IS.

3. Dunamis Life

Philippians 1:28 -- Don't be afraid of your enemies; always be courageous, and this will prove to them that they will lose, and that you will win because it is God who gives you the victory.

Peace is spirit power.

Your peace, your immovable stand upon the word of God is a sign that you are positioned correctly in perfect submission to the will of God.

The very fact that you are not frightened by your adversary is a sign that you have authority over him.

Ephesians 2:14 -- For He Himself is our peace......

2 Thessalonians 3:16 -- May the Lord himself, who is our source of peace, give you peace at all times and in every way.

Into Action

How are you developing "spirit power" in your life today?

What is the biggest enemy in your life today?

Affirmation: There is no adverse circumstance in my life that I cannot overcome with the God-kind of faith.

The whole of the New Testament, after the Gospels, has this one object: to get Christians to go on, and to go on to full growth -- into their eternal vocation -- their heavenly calling (the purpose of God for their lives). - T. Austin Sparks

We should pray because prayer is the most realistic thing in the world to do. It is our acknowledgment of reality, our right response to reality, our honesty with reality. - Peter Kreeft

With God's power working in us, God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or imagine. - Ephesians 3:20

You may have a strong impression that you simply know is from the Lord. When this happens you begin to experience a new realm of God's glory and manifest presence. From that, you have a new revelation of God. He is glory, and His presence causes the atmosphere around you to begin to change. It is like experiencing a little bit of heaven. - Chuck Pierce

How can we be sad, or hang our heads, or be distressed? Oh, if we only knew how rich we are! - Smith Wigglesworth

The church condemns violence, but it condemns indifference more harshly, Violence can be the expression of love, indifference never. - Graham Greene

Affirmation: I am dead to sin, dead to my former lusts, dead to this world, but alive unto God.

Acting in love when others are not acting in love toward you -- this is of the highest value to your soul. It is worth more than all the other works of faith you may have done, no matter how great they appear. - John of the Cross

In the meditative state rivers of living water will flow spontaneously from within us just as a natural river flows spontaneously from a spring. Characteristics of spontaneous flow include a sensitivity to and willingness to follow inner promptings, awareness of creative expression flowing within, and being uncomfortable living in "boxes". - Mark Virkler

"He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, Out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water." - John 7:38

We will never fully unite with Jesus unless we face the same disillusionment process as the disciples -- one of longing and disappointment in this world. If believers who profess love for God have never been through this inward longing, their love probably has not progressed very much. - Shawn Bolz

To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you. - C. S. Lewis

Affirmation: My highest purpose for this day is to walk with Him.

Jesus Christ operates through you. He does not operate independently of you. Man and God become united. Unless the spirit of man is truly joined to God, there is no such thing as real Christian manifestation. - John Lake

We must love Him with total disregard to dry spells and to times of spiritual abundance, otherwise we are built on sifting sand. - Jeanne Guyon

The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. - 1 John 2:17

We must experience a breaking out of old mind-sets and blindness in order to break into the revelation of what is to be ours (2 Cor4:3,4). Barbara Yoder

Anxiety is the natural result when our hopes are centered in anything short of God and His will for us. - Billy Graham

Affirmation: I realize that I am put here to do the will of God on earth as it is in Heaven.

We must be a burning and shining people who know where we are headed, fixing our eyes on our destiny, if we are going to awaken broken and disillusioned hearts! - Sean Feucht

When God give us less than we desire, it is not because He is teaching us poverty; He is teaching us thankfulness. - Francis Frangipane

You must develop an attitude where praise becomes your protection all the time as you bring God around you.Sometimes you are making melody to the Lord. Sometimes you may need to praise God in your mind. Whatever you are doing, you are just going through the whole day with God. - Myles Munroe

"I will praise thee forever...- Psalm 52:9

Silence is the simple stillness of the individual under the Word of God. We are silent after hearing the Word because the Word is still speaking and dwelling within us. We are silent at the beginning of the day because God should have the first word, and we are silent before going to sleep because the last word also belongs to God. - Dietrich Bonhoeffer

It is love that causes us to rise up from spiritual sleep and open ourselves to God. Love is the call; and love is the transforming power. - John of the Cross

Affirmation: My assignment as a believer on earth is to destroy the works of the devil.

It generally takes about five exposures to the Gospel message before a person accepts Christ; this is most easily done in the context of a friendship. - Che Ahn

At times there seems to be a stone wall in front of us. Everything seems as black as midnight, and there is nothing left but confidence in God; fidelity and confidence to believe that He will not fail, indeed cannot fail. - Smith Wigglesworth

"He drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure." - Psalm 40:2

2. Inheritance in Christ
Read Ehpesians Chapters 4-6

Chapter 4
Paul encourages them to express through their actions the underlying unity that exists in the body of Christ -- this calls for patience and humility.
God in His wisdom has given many different abilities to the people in His church. They exercise their abilities as apostles, prophets, evengelists, pastors, and teachers. All these abilities are needed if the church is to function properly.

Chapter 5
Paul calls on the Ephesians to "put on the new man" and walk circumspectly, filled with the Holy Spirit.

God.

Ephesians 6:18 - I pray on every occasion as the Spirit leads; keeping alert and never giving up; praying always for all God’s people.

3. Dunamis Life

PRODUCING THE MIRACLE

John 15:7,8 -- "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples."

Some are willing to spend hours in prayer asking for a miracle instead of planting the word of God in their hearts, which in time would produce the miracle. Prayer is what water and fertilizer are to a seed. They help the word release it's life.

But if you haven't planted the seed, it doesn't matter how much water and fertilizer you apply, the soil still won't produce fruit. It's the seed that has life.

Matthew 13:23 -- "The one who received the seed in rich soil is the man who hears the word and understands it; who accordingly bears fruit"........."

Hebrews 4:12 -- For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword..........

INTO ACTION

Write three affirmations based on this teaching.
